Unfortunately, if you are allergic to those substances we do not recommend our PMS or Low Libido creams.
- Testosterone is sourced from yam
- Estriol is sourced from soy
- Progesterone can be sourced from soy or yam
Patients and prescribers alike have justifiably voiced concerns about hormones being derived from soy sources as patients may have allergies or sensitivities to soy. Although we say the source of origin of some of our bioidentical hormones is of soy origin, they no longer contain soy allergens. (The manufacturing process involves a chemical process through which the end product is very different from the starting product and hence has no detectible soy).
To ensure that we can substantiate our claim, our supplier has performed detection tests on the soy versions of these hormones. The results showed that the levels of soy were not detectable, with a limit of detection of 2ppm and hence it is would be highly unlikely to invoke an immune response in patients with soy allergies.
However, with regards to allergies, if one has a true allergy it may be advisable to avoid these products.
